Hey guys! Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year!

I haven’t had a ton of time to play lately due to various holiday commitments, and with university starting back up again things won’t be changing in that department any time soon.

As such, I’ve been trying to make the most of my in-game time, so I’ve been mostly working on running heroics for emblems and trying to squeeze in a few dailies. I’ve worked out a pretty good routine that ends up netting me a couple of hundred gold per day with under 30 minutes of dailies and 1 random heroic. Here’s what I’ve been doing while I wait in the random heroic queue:

Fly to K3 in Storm Peaks and pick up the Overstock daily. Do that, fly back, turn it in, and head to Dun Niffelem.

Pick up Hot and Cold, Blowing Hodir’s Horn, Polishing Hodir’s Helm, Feeding Arngrim, and Spy Hunter.

Do Polishing Hodir’s Helm, Feeding Arngrim, and Spy Hunter.

Do Blowing Hodir’s Horn and Hot and Cold.

If heroic hasn’t popped yet, either head to Argent Tournament or grind Brittle Revenants by Dun Niffelem.

The dailies will net you around 70g, the drops from the mobs should net you another 30 or so, more if you get some greens. The random heroic will get you 23g on completion, plus cash drops, plus loot drops. If you spend your emblems on Crusader Orbs, you can get another ~250g every 3 days assuming you only do 1 rand0m per day.

So there you go my fellow time-starved gamers! Hopefully this little list treats you as well as it has me. If you’re looking for more info, make sure to head over to the main page of WoW Daily Quests, and bookmark it if you haven’t yet!

So the other day I was getting saddled up on my red dragon to do my favorite daily quest when I got hit with a wave of nostalgia. Anyone remember the spiritual predecessor to “Defending Wyrmrest Temple” daily? If not, maybe this will do it for you…

The Air Strikes Must Continue. There was just something about that quest. The buildup as the rest of the squadron moved in to cover you, the sudden change from peaceful (but naga-filled) forest to burnt, ravaged land packed to the brim with the Burning Legion battling Shattered Sun, Brutallus jeering and taunting you as you reached the middle of your run… It was classic Blizzard. It also definitely didn’t hurt that you got to PEW PEW with blue lasers…

Anyway, just thought I’d take a stroll down memory lane with you. Anyone have any favorite daily quests from The Burning Crusade days?

Hey guys, just thought I’d share a little bit of my own progress with speed-running WoW dailies. I’d only been doing the full 25 dailies on my Blood spec Death Knight, and I was averaging just under 2 hours for the full 25. I figured things were going pretty well, speed-wise.

Well, tonight I decided to respec to Unholy and picked up Unholy Aura and On a Pale Horse (Movement speed talents, for those of you who haven’t rerolled a DK yet, heh) and I got a bit of a shock. I finished my 25 daily quests in 91 minutes. I managed to shave 15 minutes from my best time, and about 20 from my average, and that was with me stopping to smash a priest who thought he could step.

I’m thinking with a little more optimization of my choice of dailies, I can probably whittle it down to just over an hour. Maybe 250g / hr from dailies really is possible. Anyone care to share their best speed record for 25 daily quests?

I know I’m a little bit late to the party posting about this, but I am absolutely loving the new Argent Tournament daily quests! For those of you who aren’t aware, the Argent Tournament is a new hub implemented in patch 3.1 that adds a ton of new daily quests and corresponding rewards. Here’s the original announcement by Zarhym:

In patch 3.1, a new world event titled “The Argent Tournament” will be coming to Northrend! This tournament will be live on the 3.1 PTR and open for testing, though certain aspects are still in development. Players will find a host of new features here, including:

The ability to prove your worth to a capital city of your choosing through our new mounted combat system (still in development)

New daily quests to construct the great Argent Crusade coliseum for glorious battles to come

All new rewards – new items, titles, banners, tabards, pets, mounts, and more

All new achievements

Many more festivities, and more to come in future content updates!

Players will find the Argent Tournament in Icecrown. Speaking to any Northrend flight master will get you on track to prove your worth to the Argent Crusade, your faction’s leaders, and all denizens of Azeroth!

These dailies should be of particular note to any WoW players interested in building up their mount collection. There’s one new mount per faction to be earned by turning in the token rewards from the dailies. If you’re getting bored of the current round of daily quests, definitely make sure to give these dailies a go!

I’ve probably mentioned this in every post I’ve written thus far, but of all of the WoW daily quests, my favorite is without a doubt “Defending Wyrmrest Temple”.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, this daily quest asks you to hop on the back of a red dragon and go burninate some blues who have overstepped their bounds. It ends with you dive bombing an entire dragonshrine. Just the opportunity to do this should be reward enough, but on top of that, you get:

Before level 80 – 20750 experience and 5g60s

At level 80 – 15g56s

In addition, you get 250 rep with Wyrmrest Accord, which puts you a bit closer to getting a red drake mount of your very own. If you haven’t done this daily quest yet, head out to Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight and fly up to the mid level to get this quest from Afrasastrasz.

OK, so we’ve got our daily quests, which are consistent and pretty fun in addition to being a good source of daily gold (something you WON’T find in your cereal box) but the devs need to throw something in every now and then to liven things up. To solve that problem, the good ladies and gents at Blizzard gave us WoW holidays to match their real life equivalents, plus a few more. Here’s my personal WoW Event Calendar, complete with commentary:

Noblegarden – WoW Easter. This one should be occurring some time soon, but they’ve put off announcing the date because it’s riding on the back of patch 3.1.0. It was initially scheduled for April 12, but it’s been pushed back to an undisclosed date. Easter is one of my favorite holidays, so you can expect a future post about this one.

Children’s Week – Not sure what this one is supposed to be the counterpart to, maybe Mother’s day? In any case, it always results in a fun non-combat pet and a decent amount of experience for my alts, so I’m not going to complain. In WoW Children’s Week seems to be a lot more fun than IRL Mother’s Day ever was for me (lol, cranky divorcee parents) so its definitely 2 thumbs up from me. 3 thumbs up if you count orc children, seriously. Why didn’t I have tusks as a kid?

Midsummer Fire Festival – WoW. Fire. Is there any better combination for thousands of geeky pyromaniacs worldwide? I think not. Crazily enough, the real world version of this one is… Wait for it… SUMMER. This one usually features a few free epics, and did I mention that it is the Midsummer FIRE Festival? Gah, this is why my girlfriend doesn’t let me play with matches.

Pirate’s Day – If there was one of these last year, I missed it. I don’t care, because I’ve already marked September 19 on my calendar for this year. I will not miss WoW Pirate’s Day, come hell or high water. YARRR!! Oh, and I guess I’m not really sure what they’re doing for it, but does it matter? It will involve WoW and pirates, and therefore will be excellent.

Brewfest – This is possibly the only combination that can stand up to to the Midsummer Fire Festival’s knockout combo. If they ran these two holidays together, I’d probably die of an awesome overdose. For the slower members of the crowd, WoW + beer = good. It doesn’t hurt that the event usually includes an opportunity to obtain a never ending keg, an epic mount, and one or two extremely goofy outfits. Then again, I suppose it says something about my social character that I’ve attended more WoW Brewfests than I have local ones…

Harvest Festival – A combination of Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day. Kind of a somber holiday, but the trip to Felfire Canyon in Ashenvale to pay tribute to Grom Hellscream is probably my favorite WoW event quest in the game. If you were a fan of Warcraft III and you haven’t done that quest yet, definitely check it out. I never thought I would describe a quest in WoW as “sobering”, but that one definitely fits the bill. I suppose it makes sense that they hold it after Brewfest then, doesn’t it? I’m here all week folks, tip your waiters.

Hallow’s End – WoW halloween. It feature’s shapeshifting candies, costume wands, free in-game food, easy epics, and it ends with a giant wicker man being burned. What’s not to like, really? Fair warning to my neighbors, I’m ending MY Hallow’s End with a burning wicker man this year. I’d strongly recommend fireproofing your roofs.

Feast of Winter Veil – Happy non-denominational seasonal holiday from Blizzard! It’s got presents that I never use (more on that later) and pretty lights that I always get way too adjusted to, nearly to the point that I experience strong disorientation when they’re taken down. So, I guess this one is pretty much like real life for me.

Because I’m egotistical beyond measure, I thought I’d walk you through what I typically do in a day of daily quests. Call it my WoW Dailies Guide if you will, and despite how valuable this information is, I’m going to give it away for free

Yes, I know I’m a giant dork, no need to email me about it.

Anyway, here’s my daily quest path. Bear in mind that this is probably not the optimal route for daily quests, or even necessarily the best daily quests of the bunch, it’s just how the order that I generally do them in. Your mileage may vary, and you may find certain daily quests fun that I hate, and vice versa. In any case, *DRUMROLL*…

Pendrow’s Daily Quests Guide

bulleted list for info below

First things first, I hit up Borean Tundra to spear some baby nexus drakes. Probably a total writeoff if I was counting gold per hour, but really, how can I pass that up?

The next step is to head to Wyrmrest Temple and hop onto a red dragon to kill some renegade blues. Again, not sure how this affects my bottom line, but this might just be my favorite quest in the game, so I don’t really care.

Numero tres (that’s 3 for those of you who aren’t as edumacated as me) sends me to the Storm Peaks to take care of my Sons of Hodir dailies. Oh, those crazy frost giants!

Step IV takes me in to the clutches of Icecrown, under the watchful eyes of the Lich King, who is apparently too busy at the moment to let us try to kill him. This is where efficiency comes in to play, because let’s face it, Icecrown looks like Mordor after a snowstorm and I’d rather be somewhere else. The bonus is that my gold purse comes away a good bit fatter.

The fifth stop on the list is Sholazar Basin, where I can go hang out with my bestest of friends, the puppy-men. Kinda ends it on a high note, you know? After I do some favors for them, I hop on my Drake and fly to my favorite floating magical city to sell off any junk I’ve collected along the way.

Once I’m back in Dalaran, I either head back to Ironforge to list my auctions and do some battlegrounds, or if I’m feeling particularly frisky I’ll try and get a group together for whatever the heroic daily quest is. Bonus points if it’s Violet Hold, that place is like free badges.

That’s my path, and I’m sticking to it… Unless I find a better one, or happen to want to skip something that day. No promises.

Quick confession: I have a gold spending problem. I don’t know what I would do without daily quests, because between respecing twice a day and funneling gold into twinking out my alts, I easily burn through 150g every day that I log in. In WoW, daily quests are my bread and butter. It’s kind of a bittersweet relationship though. Back in the day, I got pretty sick of the Burning Crusade dailies. It got to the point that any time I even thought of doing Quel’danas dailies, I got a little sick to my stomach, especially with my healadin.

That all changed with Wrath of the Lich King. Dailies in every zone means I don’t have to wait on my hearthstone, and there are a lot more cool, unique ones, like the Wyrmrest Temple dragon battle quest. I’m a big fan of those ones on my characters that are more group-oriented. As it stands right now, I actually look forward to doing my WoW dailies. Daily quests in WoW have gone from being a chore to something that can actually be considered, *gasp*, FUN! On that note, I’m off to set some blue dragons on fire. Anyone have a favorite daily to share?
